The previous robot production has single function which can only accomplish a particular function and action with high price. While the recent robot production is developed to be intelligentized, modularized and systematic. The trends in the future mainly are: structural modularization and reconfiguration, web based service, digitization and decentralization of servo drive technology, functionization of multi-sensor technology, optimization of work environment design, flexibility of operation and intelligentization of systemic network, and so on.
 
Li Guoqing, senior analyst from OFweek believes that the future development of industrial robot emphasizes on the following: first, robot in dangerous and severe work environment, such as riot control, high voltage hotline cleaning and planet detection; secondly, medical robot who can be used in brain surgery and remote controlled bonesetting; thirdly, bio-robot such as mobile robot and network remote control robot. The trend is intelligentization, low cost, high reliability and easy integration; fourthly, household robots who can ease human housework burden, like irobot's Roomba, who is very popular among the housewives.
